Decluttering can feel overwhelming. dealing with your own home or helping a family member many people struggle with the idea of where or how to start. However, one client’s journey shows how decluttering a fathers things can transform not just a space, but also a mindset. what was stressful and overwhelming is now clarity and enjoyment of the time she has back.

In this post, we will explore a real-life testimonial from a client who experienced the benefits of decluttering firsthand. We will share their story, the challenges they faced, and the incredible results they achieved.

The Beginning of the Journey

When this client first reached out to us, her dads home had many things and she had no idea where to start. She felt trapped by this very large job. Boxes piled high in the corners, a general sense of chaos at every visit with her dad.

This is a common feeling for many people. The thought of decluttering can be daunting. However, with the right approach, it can become a manageable task. for a home owner or family member its difficult to see where to start without the connection of all the personal items getting in the way.

Setting Goals

The first step in all jobs we do is a free walkthrough. we talk about short and long term goals and what is most important to help not just your space but you're mental health. A decluttering journey we start by setting clear goals starting with something small providing a sense of accomplishment

By setting small goals, and long term you have a clear vision of what you want. This makes the process feel less overwhelming. a lot of home owners find this first meeting inspiring and even tend to start the process before our first booking.

Words from the client

Dear Rishelle and TJ.

Words can not do justice to my gratitude to you and your staff for your assistance in clearing out my father's basement.

As you know, my dear dad has been a hoarder throughout his 100 years, and the floor-to-ceiling boxes/junk in his large basement was a museum of his life.

For many months I attempted the task of clearing it out on my own. it was a herculean job. The work was slow, tedious, back breaking, emotional and overwhelming. I felt like an ant trying to climb Mount Everest.

But what made this job pariculary horrific was the stench, filth, silverfish and black mold.

I was literally afraid to go into the basement!

in fact, the entire project affected my emotional health. i had difficulty falling/staying asleep at night just thinking about it.

Relief came in the way of a rat. When there was an infestation in the basement, the pest control company i contacted whole heartedly recommended you. Now i thank God for that rodent!

Together over time, we were able to tackle this massive undertaking. I couldn't believe hot fast, strong and positive you all were.

At the completion of each day that we worked together, all I could do was hug you and thank you profusely. when our job was finished, you completely cleaned the basement; now it is unrecognizable!

Without question, this has been the Most emotional task of my life. I knew that every

item in my father's basement was precious to him, and I felt intense guilt and shame in discarding much of it. At every step of the way you have been understanding and

sympathetic and kind. I will never be able to thank you enough. I only hope that everyone reading this will know what exceptional people you are - and what an invaluable service you offer.

In Friendship,

Roxanne Thornton
